I've got no degree, no professional and no trade. My business has gone belly up. I've got a new business plan, but it's at the ideas stage at the moment. I've always been interested in history and constutional affaires. Among other books I've read Plato's Apologia (great) and his Republic (horifying) and Betrand Russell's critique of Plato/Platonism and by extension of the modem 'elective democratic' model which is more meritocratic/Platonist than democratic/Socratic. I've concluded that we need to move to what the Swiss call 'half direct democracy'. Essentially it involves bicameralism at every political level, with as close as is reasonably possible to 'direct democracy' in one chamber while the 'normal' elective executives/legislators are in the other chamber.
